Send your greetings!

Nowadays, people use technology to send festive wishes to their friends and family. We can hardly see people sending the real cards today. However, if some of you managed to send one, that is considered a good effort!

In conjunction with the Eid and the Merdeka celebration, I would like to invite the readers to send your wishes through the comments below. Let's see how many wishes we can get through this blog!

a, an, the

Today, 3 Gemilang learned about articles a, an and the. Article is an adjective. So, it changes the noun. What is the difference between a/an and the? a/an is used to tell something that is not specific.

For example, Umairah is a doctor. Meanwhile, the is to talk about something specific.

For example, The doctor is Umairah.

Let's try another one. Let's read a book! - which means you can pick any book you like.

Let's read the book! -which means you have the specific book in mind, like Spiderman, Ben10 etc.

What about a and an? Why are they different?

an - is for any noun that starts from the letter a,e,i,o,or u

a - is for any noun that starts from anything but the letter a,e,i and u Try it yourself! Here is a test for you: http://www.englisch-hilfen.de/en/exercises/nouns_articles/a_the.htm

Lost and Found

Students of 4 Year 3 classes were given the opportunity to listen to an interactive storytelling. The story was based on a famous book "Lost and Found" by Oliver Jeffers. It was the conclusion to our Topic 1 of the textbook.

Have you read the book before? How do feel when you are left alone?

Letters received.

Students of 3 Harapan had received their letters. All letters were sent last month. Hopefully, by the end of next week all students will be getting their letters. If you don't get your letters, it may be caused by technical errors.

I'm coming home

Yesterday students of 3 Impian and 3 Dinamik sang an adaptation of the song "I'm Coming Home". This was in line with the Year 3 topic "Home Sweet Home". The lyrics had been changed to suit the topic and the students' proficiency. Let's see how 3 Dinamik sing it!

3 Harapan also sang in their own ways. Despite the heavy rain, they were able to sing loud and clear!

Can you try and sing it too?

Sending messages across.

Last week, more than 100 letters were sent by the Year 3 students. The letters would be sent to their 'friends' which were unknown to them. If the address is written properly, the letters should be able to reach the students' home within a week. Each student needed to paste a 60 cent stamp on their envelope to ensure that the postman did not get angry! This is a format of writing a simple letter to a friend:

The letters were then sent to the post box. If you are living in Kuala Lumpur or Ampang, you should put your letter into "Kuala Lumpur sahaja".
