a, an, the
Today, 3 Gemilang learned about articles a, an and the. Article is an adjective. So, it changes the noun. What is the difference between a/an and the? a/an is used to tell something that is not specific.
For example, Umairah is a doctor. Meanwhile, the is to talk about something specific.
For example, The doctor is Umairah.
Let's try another one. Let's read a book! - which means you can pick any book you like.
Let's read the book! -which means you have the specific book in mind, like Spiderman, Ben10 etc.
What about a and an? Why are they different?
an - is for any noun that starts from the letter a,e,i,o,or u
a - is for any noun that starts from anything but the letter a,e,i and u Try it yourself! Here is a test for you: http://www.englisch-hilfen.de/en/exercises/nouns_articles/a_the.htm

Shadow Puppet
Shadow play is a traditional performance. It was an entertainment before television was even invented! The shadow play is used to tell stories and myths. The puppeteer will sit behind the screen and moves the puppets around. The lamp is used to light up the screen. This will allow the shadow to appear.
There are different types of shadow play around the world. More than 20 countries have a shadow play performance. The Chinese shadow play is called 皮影戏 (pí yĭng xì). Indian shadow theatre is called 'Killekyata'. Let's watch a shadow play from Turkey.
Can you figure out what they are talking about?
In Malaysia and Indonesia, the shadow play is called 'Wayang Kulit'. The puppets are controlled by the puppeteer called 'dalang'. He is also the storyteller. Let's watch a video of a famous dalang in Indonesia.
Have you watched a live performance before?

Is there a camel in Australia?
Is there a camel in Australia? Interesting question. You have seen so many camels in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia) and Egypt (Saharan desert). But have you seen a camel in Australia?
Today, there are about 1 million camels in Australia. Most of them were shipped from northern India and Afghanistan. These camels had helped the Europeans to bring tools and bricks to build cities across Australia. If you happen to come across an Australian camel, don't forget to take a picture of the animal and its tongue! But since they live in the wild, be careful!
